WordPress Weekly Photos Challenge: Unfocused

The theme for this week is difficult. I normally delete all unfocused photos. In this shot I was trying to shoot all the insides of the lily, but only the centre was focused. I think it nearly looks better!

  1. I like this shot. When taking macro flower shots, I often soften all but the one small part — I think that it makes the viewer concentrate on just one small wonderous part of the flower. There is enough in the soft focus portion that you can see the beauty of the whole flower, but your eye is only focused on the center part. And what an interesting shape it is!

  2. Fab, you wouldn’t usually notice that shape in the centre!

  3. Imperfect sometimes becomes perfect!
    Beautiful photo!

  4. Oh wow, I think this photo is beautiful. I love it! Thank you for sharing it this week. I also tend to delete all blurred photographs, but there is a distinct loveliness about them if we look hard enough, I suppose. :)

  5. OH My Lily! then you need to stop deleting unfocused stuff…that is so beautiful! I love how I feel a teeny bit dizzy looking at it (okay, I’ve also only had Sudafed and coffee so far, but still :) )….

I especially like how close up it is, I can see, what to me, looks like a trinity symbol within a trinity symbol. Is it a lilly flower? phew, that would really be cool :)

Keep up the great work Lily…

    yours, Kate

Your banner image drew my attention. Where was it taken? Did you do it?

    • Thank you! It’s Achill Island in Mayo, Ireland. I was lucky to be there on a lovely sunny day to get this shot!

  10. I think you should blow it up and have it framed. It’s beautiful.
