Ailsa has been kind this week and given us the theme of Green for the challenge. Really, I could have a blog with just images of green, so I decided to take a few shots in town this morning.
Having St Patrick’s Day fall on a weekend day is great because it means a weekend festival instead of just one day. The centre was packed, music was playing and food was cooking. AND……….the sun was shining! It actually made it difficult to take some photos, but I’m not complaining at all.
So, here are some green photos from the eve of St Patrick’s Day.
It’s a long weekend for us here, so stay tuned for more St Patrick themed posts. There’ll definitely be one from the parade coming up!
Happy St Patrick’s Day wherever you are.
All shots taken with iPhone 4 and edited with Instagram.
The word this week on A Word in Your Ear is Clouds. I LOVE clouds, so I’m delighted with this theme!
A photo captures a moment and helps you remember it forever. The smells, sounds, weather…… Elisa has tagged me to enter the Colour Contest on travelsupermarket.com . You have to post a photo representing blue, green, white, yellow and red. Check out the contest prizes and rules by clicking the orange link.
Here are mine.
Blue was taken in Lanzarote last year. We rented a car and drove around the island. Being starved of sun and blue skies in Ireland, I took lots of photos of both!
Green was taken in Lisbon at Castelo Sao Jorge. Having taken the famous Tram 28 to get there, we were surprised to see peacocks wandering around the place. I went on a peacock hunt to get the best shot I could!
White was taken in Boston at New Year. This was the most snow I’ve ever seen in my life and it was the coldest I’ve ever been in my life! This is the Charles river frozen over.
Yellow was taken in New York, of course. The famous yellow cabs are everywhere and one managed to get into my shot of the Flatiron building. I’m not sure it’s possible to get a shot of the building without a cab in the picture!
Red was taken in Barcelona. I thought this was a very imaginative way to decorate a shutter and to promote your business at the same time.
I also have to tag 5 other people and let them know about the contest. My nominees are:
