Drake’s Pool

As quite often happens at this time of year after a long year of teaching, I’ve lost my voice. It makes teaching a class challenging! As a result I had a very quiet weekend. I went for a walk just to get out of the house on Saturday. I knew the sail park had been done up, but I hadn’t seen it since it had been finished. It’s very pretty now, with a few seats to sit and watch the rowers.

The sail sculpture is by Peadar Drinan to commemorate Sir Francis Drake.

As I’ve mentioned already this week, we’ve had a nice few days. But, as I write this, the rain is falling sideways against the window.  And I still have to go for a run.

Going for a run has been easy the last few times.

Sunsets like this make it easier to get out of the house. Going out in the rain…not so easy!

Besides taking photos of the boats, I also took some of the flowers. Usually I try to avoid running into them!

Hopefully that’ll brighten up your day. It’s pretty rainy here :-)

Sunday morning, run time! If someone had told me a year ago that I would get up on Sunday mornings and run 3 or 4 miles, I would have laughed! But anyway, that’s what I did this morning. I brought my camera because the walkway where I run is very pretty. I have posted photos from there many times. This morning was sunny when I was running, but started to rain when the camera came out. Typical!

The water was very calm and the boats weren’t moving.
